The status quo

Times are changing fast, and so are we,
Pumps are racing at full throttle, and so are the feet,
Enslavers are being pumped in, and so is greed,
Anguished ones are being hushed, and so are their screams,
Brines are being infected and, so are the springs.

And the sparkler is now cared for, but the loyalties are not,
Highs are hitting new highs, but the lows are not,
Words from distant are heard, but of the bystanders are not,
Net is a major concern, but the growling stomachs are not,
There are too many people present here, but human beings are not.
